FOUNDERS // JIRAI LAITANEN
Fatal: the stolen command
Jirai Laitanen, known as Fatal, served in the Caldari Navy’s Octopus Squadron. Passed over for promotion, he deserted with Korako Kosakami in stolen Condors. His charisma helped build the Guristas. His later condition is uncertain: official accounts describe a damaging clone transfer and conflicting reports after Crielere.
Korako Kosakami brought technical talent to the partnership with Fatal. Blamed for a fatal equipment failure, he left the Navy with his friend. Their ambassador-kidnapping scheme combined deception with engineering, establishing the gang’s reputation. The broader Guristas dossier describes his origins and leadership.
After their early successes, the Guristas moved into Venal and established fortified bases. The region became a staging ground for their operations. That history gives Guristas pilots a home beyond the empire warzones. Our regional tools show geography and reported activity, not ownership or safe passage.
Crielere was a joint Caldari and Gallente research project. Political fallout stripped its funding and protection. Capsuleers repelled an initial Guristas assault, but a later raid seized researchers Henric Touvolle and Taromi Umailen. Fatal was podded during the withdrawal. The project ended in ruin, with consequences far beyond the battle.
The Deathless offered the Guristas and Angel Cartel sanctuary in Zarzakh, an unusual system containing ancient Jovian structures. The Fulcrum became his base. This alliance opened a new chapter in pirate activity. The original announcement describes the 2023 discovery period; use current field tools for today’s operations.
The Deathless alliance lets pirate-aligned capsuleers take part in hit-and-run insurgencies. Pirates build corruption while empire forces build suppression. The shipcaster connects Zarzakh to a pirate forward operating base. Campaign objectives and rewards belong in the field guide, where current rules and feed freshness can be checked.
